Starting with March 1st, IIS will employ a more coherent and structured price grid for its European clients. The new grid will bring an overall decrease of prices by 17% in terms of panel fees for the business structure expected in 2007.

The new European price grid is in line with the market trends in the regions where IIS currently holds panels, and also with the clients' needs and the company's short and medium term strategy. As main advantage, this homogeneous grid is easier to understand and use and reflects project specs accurately.

In order to build this strategy, IIS has recently conducted a study to evaluate and compare our pricing policy with local and global competitors. The study revealed that we had very competitive prices on some segments, but could do better on others. The result of this price positioning study consists today in this new approach: prices in line with the current market and future trends, adapted to different business regions: West Europe, North America, CEE, LatAm.

This new IIS pricing policy for Europe-based clients is based on the following elements:
  • panel fees: new panel costs to reflect more accurately incentives according to questionnaire length
  • operational fees: grouped into a single budget line in order to enhance usage of the online pricing grid (by clients and IIS team)
  • emergency fees: new introduced element; it comprises standard emergency costs for cases where additional resources need to be used

This pricing strategy also includes new variables: region, number of quotas and two categories for open ended questions (Regular OE: TAF, recall, Main Ideas, Likes/ Dislikes and Simple OE: Brand Recall, Other Specify).

Overall, the new European price grid offers a 17% discount from the total panel cost. Nevertheless, on some segments, the discount increases up to even 30 - 40% for high incidences depending on project specifications (questionnaire length and number of interviews).

The new European price grid is already implemented in WIISE. For the future, IIS plans to constantly monitor our local and global competitors, conducting price positioning analyses every 3 months and reviewing our pricing policy every 6 months, if necessary.

Implementing this strategy will thus respond to clients' needs on one hand and will decrease fees in order to follow market trends and help IIS achieve its business objectives on the other hand.
