In the ever-changing, competitive world of Online research, both clients and survey respondents expect surveys to keep pace with new capabilities that other Online organizations are creating. For instance, if you use large portals such as Yahoo or MSN, you will undoubtedly have appreciated the more graphical, faster, and intuitive functionality that they keep adding and improving on. This evolution is linked not only to the more sophisticated software tools and approaches, but also to the growing penetration of broadband connections amongst the general population.
Over the past few months, the i-NPD team has been working on creating a portfolio of new rich-media "look 'n feel" improvements that should make our surveys look different and more appealing to respondents. These improvements fall into 2 general areas:
1) slick new graphical widgets created using Flash or Javascript that replace several standard survey elements such as scales, radio buttons etc;
2) dynamic page manipulation , allowing us to instantaneously display follow-up questions on the same page based on responses to a question (e.g., Selecting "very poor" as a response to how they were treated by a salesperson would immediately display a follow-up on the same page asking "what could we have done to improve your experience?")
Steve Levy, President, MRC-E: This initiative is important for Ipsos to stay with and ahead of our competition while proving to our clients that we can provide a survey experience that is using leading edge capabilities of the internet.
Rob Berger, VP Client Service Canada: These new capabilities address a strong demand for enhancements to Ipsos surveys and allow us to satisfy our more aesthetically demanding clients.
