Our panels stand for quality, global coverage, and a high response rate (even for lower incidence targets). We manage a state of the art sampling tool, helping us to provide our clients with representative samples on the basis of up to 6 standard demographic criteria.

Panel Care & Maintenance

IIS Panel in Brief

  • A double opt-in recruitment process
  • An ongoing monitoring of the panel’s activity and parameters, as well as the average number of interviews / panelists per year
  • Purging inactive panel members - removal procedures
  • Panel rules to monitor compliance with the targeted maximum research load
  • Sampling algorithms – equivalent probability sample selection
  • The response and completion rates are measured and reported to the client
  • Participation history/respondent and exclusion procedures are based on an individual survey participation history
  • Consistent and extensive information on each panelist
  • A similar recruitment questionnaire for all IIS countries, ensuring a consistent sample for global projects
  • ~ 100 criteria available (e.g.: socio-demographic criteria, internet usage, travel behavior, household equipment, entertainment, pet ownership, automobile, etc.)

Recruitment
The three main rules of recruitment at IIS are:
1. A double opt-in recruitment process
2. Use diversified sources with a broad audience
3. Monitor panel attrition rate: continuous recruitment to refresh the pool of panelists

Panel Management Rules
IIS regulates the number and type of surveys sent to panel members in order to avoid burnout and to maintain a consistent presence:

  • Minimum Online Rule
A panelist can not receive more than 2 invitations per week (Webcruisers or other internal panel surveys excluded).
On average, a panelist receives 3 to 6 invitations per month, depending on the country.
  • Category Rule
For studies in the same category, a panelist can not receive more than:
1 invitation every 2 weeks for Europe
1 invitation every 1 week for NA
  • Purging Rule
Panelists that did not respond to at least one survey in the last 6 months are removed every month from the active panel list.

Panel Communication and Incentives
We have a dedicated Panel Communication Team which supports our panelists in 13 languages (native speakers): English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch/ Flemish, Russian, Portuguese, Romanian, Finnish and Danish.

We make it our priority to best stay in touch with panelists and we use as channels of communication:

  • Monthly emailed newsletter
  • A custom-built website
  • Access to tech-support (via email and phone)

All panelists receive appropriate incentives to participate in our surveys. The incentives alternate from study to study depending on the country, survey topic, length, and complexity. We provide both incentives per complete as well as the chance to win different prizes.
